ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Pastor to support the Senior Pastor in the spiritual leadership, pastoral care and day-to-day shepherding of the congregation. This is a hands-on ministry role for someone with a shepherd’s heart and a passion for people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Senior Pastor in preaching, teaching and leading services.
- Provide pastoral care, counselling, hospital and home visitation.
- Oversee assigned ministries, home fellowships and discipleship groups.
- Conduct weddings, funerals, dedications and other pastoral duties as delegated.
- Help develop and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers.
- Deputise for the Senior Pastor when required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Ordained minister, or theologically trained and ready for ordination.
- Demonstrable pastoral, preaching and leadership experience.
- Sound biblical knowledge and alignment with the church’s doctrine and values.
- Compassionate, discreet and approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive pastoral matters with integrity.
- Available for evening, weekend and on-call ministry as needed.
